Alison & Thomas :: A Wedding at the Strong Mansion
When everything comes together and the weather cooperates, there's nothing quite like a Fall wedding in the DC area. Alison and Tommy enjoyed a perfect day for their wedding at the Strong Mansion in Dickerson, MD, another of my "must shoot" venues that I can cross off my list. The fall colors were out in full force. It was gorgeous!
I don't think these high-school sweethearts could have scripted a better day. Here are some of the amazing vendors who helped put it together:
Bride’s dress: Judd Waddell
Cake and Caterer: Festive Foods
Florist: Yellow Door Floral Design
DJ: Chris Laich
Ceremony Musicians: St. Charles String Quartet
Alison and Tommy, thank you for trusting me with your wedding images.

After group shots, we snuck off to the gardens for some couple portraits...

They had the perfect details for a Fall wedding.

I love this image from a semi-private moment I caught during the reception. Alison and Tommy were off on their own, dancing and twirling Alison's dress. Most weddings have the 'big' moments, like the first kiss, first dance, etc. But this was one of those little, spontaneous moments that stands out and makes each wedding memorable. It might have seemed insignificant at the time, but I have a feeling Alison and Tommy will always remember breaking away from the reception and dancing by themselves for a moment. I'm glad I was there to catch it.

I know what you're thinking and, yes, that is the bride leading a choreographed dance to "Thriller."
