Jen & Sean :: Baltimore Engagement Session

Jen and Sean were the lucky winners of our Charm City Bride engagement session giveaway. Charm City Bride is a fabulous resource for anyone planning a Baltimore wedding. Jen and Sean were up for anything, so we decided to do something a little different. We started at the Baltimore Streetcar Museum, walked down the tracks and found lots of gritty spots to make pretty pictures.

Jeannie & Jon :: A Baltimore Engagement Session

I always enjoy when couples choose meaningful locations for their engagement session. Jeannie and Jon wanted to incorporate their Baltimore neighborhood for their session, so we spent the morning wandering, chatting and laughing. I'm so looking forward to their wedding at the Columbia Country Club in April!

A Wedding at the American Visionary Art Museum :: Alli & Josh

Alli and Josh had a wonderful celebration at the American Visionary Art Museum a few weeks ago. When a couple writes their own vows and both reference the same trashy TV show, you know they are a good match. Or they watch way too much MTV. But I'm confident going with the former in this case.

AVAM is such a unique place for a wedding and reception. There are so many interesting photo opportunities incorporating the artwork. Despite a rainy day that messed with some of our photo plans, Josh and Alli never let it phase them. I love working with calm, laid-back couples who never lose sight of what their wedding day is really about.

On to the images...

The rain stopped for a little while...

That's What She Said rocked...

One of the highlights of the night was when Josh ripped off his jacket and joined the band onstage for a few songs...

Congrats Josh and Allie!

Jennifer & Scott :: A Baltimore Wedding

One of the things I love about being a wedding photographer is that each event is completely different. I never know quite what I'm walking into, which keeps me fresh and constantly inspired by the ways my couples choose to personalize their wedding. One week I could be shooting rooftop portraits at the Swedish Embassy, the next week I could find myself at a gorgeous farmhouse in the mountains of Bluemont, Virginia. Jennifer and Scott chose to throw nearly every wedding "tradition" out the window and hosted an intimate ceremony on the roof deck of their Baltimore apartment. The next night, they invited a few more friends to Corradetti Studios, a glassblowing studio in Baltimore's Clipper Mill, for some amazing food, relaxing jazz and good conversation. It suited them perfectly, and that's the way it should be.

We started off with some portraits in Baltimore's Mount Vernon neighborhood.

Back at the apartment and ready for the ceremony to begin...

Jennifer and Scott were joined by their families...

... and their beloved Pookie!

The next day, we got to explore some of Clipper Mill's amazing photo backdrops...

And a few more inside the glassblowing studio...

The Jim Stewart Jazz Trio set the mood...

Chef's Expressions provided some of the best food I've ever tasted.
